Handmade just 30 minutes drive from here at the workshop of Clareen Banjos,County Galway using Clareen Irish made brass fittings such as rolled tone ring,tension hoop,hooks,shoes and nuts.

The banjo comes with a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and peghead. The resonator is mahogany. The rim is 16mm maple laminated rim with slot for flathead style simple tone ring(of brass).

Available in standard 19 fret and short scale 17 fret models.

This Special is the original of the Clareen Banjo range and the most popular. The Clareen Special is an excellent Tenor banjo with a crisp, clear tone. The two-piece neck of well-selected maple has a contrasting mahogany centre strip for stability and appearance. All the wood is finished in its natural colour as is the resonator and maple rim.
