Schertlers MAGNETICO AG6 pickup for acoustic guitar is the first model in a range of specially developed, affordable fretted instrument pickups that uniquely combine high end Schertler electronics with active multiple coil technology. Benefits include a fast transient behaviour, flat frequency response and a full rich sound across the entire range of the instrument.
The compact pickup fits inside the guitars sound hole. It is equipped with volume control and external input (also with separate volume control) for connecting a second pickup. Sound from both pickups can be blended to create exactly the right effect for each individual performance or recording. The MAGNETICO AG6 is supplied with an internal Jack cable for fixed installation on the instrument.

The violin is a difficult instrument to find a pickup system for that wont interfere with the acoustic sound and is easy to use. Kenny Johnson,electric violin maker from the Shetland Islands has come up with this neat user friendly system.
PreAmp built into the chinrest - no need for any external gadgets or equipment apart from the lead.
A small 3.2mm or 1/8th inch hole is drilled into the bridge just above the G-string foot.This does not alter the sound,or the dynamics of the bridge.A transducer element is inserted in the hole,from which a wire extends to a quality Wolf Guarneri style chinrest-into which the pre-amp for the pick up has been fitted.This gives an active pickup signal without the need for any external equipment.The sound is natural and balanced.
The pre-amp is charged up for sixteen hours of playing by attaching a supplied charger to which is fitted a nine volt battery,giving an active signal without the need for a battery onboard.

Designed at our request by TAP Pickups,this idea is taken from their violin VIS pickup and is one of the few systems to work well for mandolins with thumbwheel type bridges.
Two piezo transducers are sandwiched between the base and saddle of the bridge (with extra shims of compactable foam provided to accomodate larger gaps between the two halfs of the mandolin bridge) The pressure when strung to tension produces a very strong signal.It does not interfere acoustically with your instrument and requires no permanent modification or drilling.Easy to mount with the input housed externally in a violin chinrest type clamp.Frequencies will need to be balanced by controls on your amp,mixing console or pre amp / DI unit.
